GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND COMPETITION RULES

Standard Terms

The Promoter is The Radio Network Ltd (TRN), 54 Cook Street, Auckland.

Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry and Competition Rules. TRN reserves the right to exclude any person from the contest on the grounds of criminal record, or for medical reasons.

These Conditions of Entry and Competition Rules apply to all promotions run by TRN. Coast (a Station of The Radio Network) will conduct the promotion. The Radio Network (TRN) reserves the right to add and/or delete participating stations at any time.

TRN reserves the right to discontinue a promotion at any stage.

These rules may be amended from time to time by employees of TRN.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law TRN, it agencies, affiliates, sponsors or representatives will not be liable for any claims, liability, loss or damage arising out of, or in connection with any contest staged by TRN.

If entry to this competition is being made on-line (eg) via thecoast.net.nz, by completing an entry, in addition, the participant agrees to be bound by the website general Terms and Conditions of Use. In the event of conflict between these Competition Terms and Conditions and the website Standard Terms and Conditions of Use, the specific Competition Terms and Conditions will prevail.

In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.

The judge’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Special Conditions

Special restrictions or qualifications may apply to particular contests, in which case an addendum to these rules will be made. Additional contest rules and/or terms and conditions of a prize or competition on TRN may be applicable and if so will be posted on Coast, or available from reception. The winner’s signature in acceptance of these additional terms and conditions will be sought before receipt of the prize.

General prize info

TRN reserves the right to refuse awarding any prize to a person who is determined to have violated a TRN rule as outlined in these terms and conditions, gained unfair advantage in participating in the promotion or obtained a winner status using fraudulent means.

No purchase is necessary to win.

TRN is not responsible for defective prizes or misuse of a claimed prize.

Winners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent / guardian. Identification will be required – passport/birth certificate, drivers licence or student card. This requirement will be strictly adhered to where alcohol is a prize.

The prize(s) are not redeemable for cash or transferable.

If the specified prize is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances TRN may substitute another prize of similar or equal value.

Prizewinner(s) will be determined by random draw (unless otherwise specified). Prizewinner(s) will be notified by Coast by phone and or mail.

Some competitions on this website are only open to certain regions. Please ensure you have the correct region where you live selected on the top right hand corner of the home page.

Multiple entries are acceptable but each must be made as a separate entry.

Personal details

By participating, all winners grant TRN exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices and likeness in connection with promotion of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right or remuneration for such use.

By entering a competition, you confirm that the details you are entering are your own details, and are true and correct at the time of entry.

All contestants must make themselves available for a photo session if required by TRN and acknowledge TRN has the right to use these publicity photos in any reasonable manner.

All personal details provided to participate in these promotions will be held by TRN for the purpose of this promotion and entries may be used by the TRN for future promotional and marketing purposes, unless otherwise advised by entrants.

Prize pick up

Only the person who originally entered the promotion can be awarded the prize(s). No other family members, friends, office associates or any other person will be able to participate on another person’s behalf.

Any prizes being collected by the winner from the radio station, must be picked up within 90 days of winning.

TRN will not notify the winners of time remaining – it is the sole responsibility of the winner to claim their prize. All unclaimed prizes will be forfeited.

In the event a winner chooses not to accept a prize, they forfeit any claims to the prize, which can then be awarded to a runner-up at the discretion of TRN.

TRN is at liberty to dispose of an unclaimed prize at the end of 90 days.

Prizes valued under $50 may be mailed at the option of TRN; all other prizes must be claimed in person, unless otherwise specified. ID which includes a photo will be required (Examples are driver’s license / passport / student card with photo).

In extraordinary situations, with the prior permission of TRN, a winner may nominate a designated representative to collect a prize. Written authorisation and ID for both winner and their representative will be required.

Allow two weeks for the delivery of prizes.

Prizes that include international travel

Where the prize includes international travel, the winner MUST hold a valid passport and relevant Visas.

When the prize includes travel to or through the United States, it is the winner’s responsibility when travelling into or through (transiting included) the United States under the Visa Waiver Program to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) no later than 72 hours prior to departure. The winner must visit the US Department of Homeland Security website and fill in the required information.

Any changes to travel dates or additional accommodation outside the travel period specified in the prize details, made by the winner, which incur additional costs, are to be paid by the prize winner.

Incidental costs, such as but not limited to, passport & visa costs, travel insurance, departure taxes, airport transfers and all other personal expenditures will be at the winners expense unless specifically advised.

When the prize includes international travel, where the winner is under 18 years of age they MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.

Ineligibility

Employees of TRN, participating sponsors and their advertising agencies, employees of other radio stations and members of their immediate families are not eligible to participate and win. The term “immediate families” include spouses, Grandparents, Parents, Children, and Grandchildren whether by marriage, past marriages, remarriage, adoption, co-habitation or other family extension.

Technical Inability to Complete

TRN disclaims any responsibility for the inability to complete or continue an entry due to equipment malfunction, busy lines, inadvertent disconnection, acts of God or otherwise. Participants are restricted to the use of standard telephone and/or computer equipment.

If in the course of the contest, prior to confirming the winner’s identification and address, the phone line drops out or becomes disconnected for any reason, TRN is not responsible for awarding such prize to that caller and will go on to the next available caller.

If there is a dispute arising out of use of telephone lines, websites, texts or email or any other form of technology during a competition, the decision of TRN is final.
