Wedges are still wonderful and a summer staple for 2012. Raffia and wooden wedge heels with leather strappy uppers are essential companions for softer summer skirts and dresses and look super chic teamed with tailored shorts. Just to liven things up a bit we are also seeing wedge-heel trainers back on the fashion radar. Sneaker wedges are a fun weekend look teamed with super-skinny trousers or cropped chinos. Styles range from the more casual basketball-trainer variety, where the wedge is hidden, to more refined tight-laced options with a visible wedge.
