The Best Kiwi Olympians

Share |

Wednesday, August 01, 2012 1:40 PM

Over the years New Zealand's Olympians – over 1000 of them in total – have produced plenty of memorable moments; the triumphs and golden achievements of our athletes, rowers, canoeists, equestrians and yachties.

Our Olympic medallists have achieved considerable sporting success for New Zealand. Since 1920 New Zealand has failed to win a medal at the Summer Olympics on only 2 occasions (London in 1948 and Moscow in 1980, when only 4 competitors were sent as a result of the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott).

Leading up to the London 2012 Olympic Games, New Zealand has won a total of 90 medals (37 Gold, 17 Silver, and 36 Bronze).

We have compiled a list of New Zealand's 15 best Olympians. Do you agree with our choices?
