Everyone knows the saying that the eyes are the windows to the soul, but many don’t also realise that the eyes are also able to provide valuable insight into a person’s general health and wellbeing.
Seniors need to be especially vigilant about maintaining regular eye tests as they have a far greater risk of suffering from preventable eye conditions that can lead to blindness.
On top of this, regular eye tests can identify the warning signs of health issues including high or low blood pressure, kidney disorders and even brain tumours.
While this sounds quite scary, if we spot these things early, the person has a much better chance of being successfully treated and returning to full health.
At Specsavers, we recommend that everyone should get their eyes tested every two years.
