Our brain is a search engine just like Google. When you ask it a question it keeps on searching until it comes up with an answer. And just like Google, sometimes it’s not the answer that you searched for or wanted.
How often have you scared yourself with your thoughts? Panicking over something that you fear will happen, but that in actuality will never come to pass. When you focus on the worst case scenario your Google brain is searching for the answer, painting awful pictures of your future which you then begin to think about repeatedly.
If this is happening to you, STOP - press control, alt, delete and take yourself to your happy place, wherever that may be for you. Dissolve the images that have been conjured up in your mind. Use imagery such as a flowing stream floating the fearful thoughts away, or a strong wind blowing them away, or ocean waves washing the thoughts away.
Centre yourself and focus on loving thoughts. This is both an act of self love and a way of loving others. Fear is the opposite of love and if you’re constantly in a fearful state, it’s very hard to give love to others.
Here are some positive affirmations to help dissolve the fearful thoughts. Remember to breathe deeply:
I love life and life loves me.
Only good experiences lie before me.
All is well and so am I.
I release all dramas from my life and attract peace.
I gratefully accept all the good I have in my life now.
I have happy and harmonious relationships.
I give and receive love freely.
