Bernadine Oliver-Kerby is hoping to make plenty of waves in 2018 - she will be co-hosting the new Coast Breakfast show from January 22.

Jason Reeves will be co-hosting alongside her.

Oliver-Kerby is an award-winning newsreader for NewstalkZB on Mike Hosking Breakfast, launching her radio career 13 years ago.

A replacement for her role will be announced in the coming weeks. Oliver-Kerby is also well known for her work as a presenter and reporter on TVNZ, NZ Herald Focus and Sky Sport.

While it was a tough decision for Oliver-Kerby to leave the ZB family, she says it was time for a new challenge.

"I'm thrilled to be joining Jason on the Coast Breakfast show. While I've been a journalist and newsreader for many years, co-hosting a Breakfast show will be a completely different world for me and I'm ready to learn a new skill set and have some fun with hosting."

Oliver-Kerby says, "With only a floor between the ZB crew and me it's the perfect move. I'm sure there won't be too much separation anxiety!"

Coast plays superstar favourites including Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, The Eagles, Queen and Elton John, and brings the best music, interviews with intriguing guests, and news and entertainment updates to listeners.

Coast content director Raylene Ramsay is excited.

"We are so pleased to have Bernadine join Jason on the Breakfast show. Bernadine's vibrant personality is a perfect fit for our contemporary station. I can't wait to hear them sharing their lives, and the lives of our listeners, and still playing the classic hits from the superstars."

Coast can be heard right now on iHeartRadio, and Oliver-Kerby will be heard on-air from January 22 2018.
