Tom Hanks has long been considered one of world’s favourite actors, so it should come as no surprise that he continues to live up to the reputation. The Sully star crashed a wedding photo shoot in Central Park Sunday, pausing mid-jog to congratulate the couple.

Tom was jogging through Central Park in New York City over the weekend when he spotted smitten couple Elisabeth and Ryan, and decided to give them a wedding surprise they'd never forget.

He ran over in a hoodie and sweat pants to introduce himself to the shocked lovebirds as photographer Meg Miller took their pictures after their ceremony nearby.

After shaking the groom’s hand, kissing the bride’s hand and posing for some pictures, Hanks even offered to preside over the ceremony. “He asked if they needed a wedding officiant, because he is an ordained minister,” photographer Meg Miller said.

He then posted a selfie with the pair on his Instagram, writing, “Elizabeth and Ryan! Congrats and blessings! Hanx.”

Meg opened up about the moment the Hollywood star walked over to the couple, and said the gesture was "pretty amazing".

"He just walked up to us and took off his hat and glasses and said, 'Hi, I'm Tom Hanks,'" she told the New York Daily News. "It was pretty amazing that he stopped."
