He was one of the six fresh-faced stars of iconic sitcom Friends.

But Matthew Perry looked very different as he settled down to attend a nighttime open-air screening of the original Jurassic Park at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Tuesday evening according to DailyMail.

The actor, 47, looked almost unrecognisable as he spent his Independence Day in low-key style, reliving the classic dinosaur film released in 1993, a year before Friends debuted on TV.

The actor - who has recently been seen in TV shows The Kennedys and The Good Fight - tried to go incognito to watch the film in a baseball cap, setting up his viewing spot on the grass on a picnic rug with a blanket.

One photographer managed to get Matthew to give the camera a grin and a thumbs up before the event started - also snapping shots of other attendees Carrie actress Chloe Moretz and Last Man Standing actress Kaitlyn Dever.

Matthew shot to fame as the wise-cracking Chandler Bing when he was 25, and starred in the 10 seasons that followed until 2004, where he and his co-stars became household names and world famous.

He was the youngest of the cast, with Jennifer Aniston, Matt Le Blanc and David Schwimmer one, two and three years older than him respectively, and Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox both six years his senior.

Yet the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated star has become notoriously scruffy as he's aged, spotted two weeks ago with a mystery blonde in New York, looking extremely casual in what could only be referred to as hobo chic.
