Liz Dawn's husband has given an update on her condition

Last week, Coronation Street star Liz Dawn was rushed to hospital after a serious health scare.

According to her husband, Liz is slowly getting better;

“She’s feeling chipper and she’s on the mend – get well soon, Liz!”

She played the much-loved character 'Vera Duckworth' on Coro, who was written out back in 2008 - and by then she was one of the longest-serving members of the cast.

She was originally diagnosed with the lung disease, emphysema back in 2004 and there were further complications in 2007.
