Mother Lost 50kg After Being Told She Was Too Heavy To Go On A Water Slide With Her Son

Just over one year ago, Ursula Glover, 31, weighed 117 kilograms.

But after 11 months of hard work and a total diet transformation, the determined mother-of-one lost a whopping 50 kilograms and dropped to just 67 kilos.

'My son, partner and I went to Dreamworld water park and after lining up for what felt like forever we finally got up there and they asked how much I weighed and I wasn't able to go on due to the 100 kilogram weight restriction,' Mrs Glover told Daily Mail Australia.

'We had to walk back down...that's what prompted a change really as I guess I didn't realise how big I was.'

Mrs Glover, from Queensland, had been struggling with her weight since the birth of her son, now 12, and said the weight had slowly 'crept on' due to an unhealthy lifestyle.

'I used to drink a lot of soft drink so I had to cut it out...I was drinking a litre of Coca Cola a day and it was so easy to do,' Mrs Glover said.

'I would eat everything and anything, I never exercised and I would smash a packet of chips like it was nothing and we were all doing it.'

Mrs Glover bought herself a cross trainer and started her lifestyle changes at home as she was afraid to go to the gym.

'I lost 10 kilograms at home after making small changes including swapping to healthy meals from pizza and ice cream and not going out for meals as much.'

But after her first loss, Mrs Glover decided to sign up to the local gym and participate in two 12-week challenges which involved personal training sessions, intense weights and cardio-focused boot camps.

After 11 months and two 12-week challenges at Goodlife Health Club, Mrs Glover had lost 50 kilograms and her partner had lost 30 kilograms.

'I cut my hair because when you start changing you re-invent yourself and start caring - I would do something in the mornings rather than avoid the mirror,' Mrs Glover said.

Mrs Glover hopes her weightloss journey can inspire other women to make a change.

'It's so worth it at the end...you start caring about things you never cared about before and you feel so fantastic.'
