Then And Now: See What The World's Most Beautiful Woman From The 60's Looks Like Today

One of the world's greatest beauties is turning 82 today!

Acting took a back seat for Loren after the birth of her sons Carlo Jnr in 1968 and Edoardo in 1973.

For the next two decades she worked mostly in Italy - although she starred with Richard Burton in a 1974 remake of Brief Encounter and played a sexy pensioner in Grumpier Old Men.

In 1982 Loren served 18 days in jail for tax evasion. After receiving an honorary Oscar in 1991, she concentrated on producing a range of perfume, jewellery and spectacles and writing cookbooks.

Aged 72 she posed for the Pirelli calendar. This year she made her film comeback in The Human Voice, directed by her son Edoardo.
