A sudden craving for chocolate or cheese may actually be the body displaying a desire for sugar, which can signal an impending attack.
But snacking on a banana will help keep your blood sugar levels even and hold a headache at bay, says Dr. Andy Dowson, director of headache services at King's College Hospital in London.
