Have you loved a book so much, you've gone back and re-read it? That experience is good for us, say researchers in a study in both NZ and America.
Reading a book or seeing a film multiple times, encourages us to engage with them more emotionally than the first time around.
The first time we read or watch, we're concentrating on the story-line and the events in it.
In the re-run, our emotions are re-kindled and we take our time over the feelings that it inspires. That experience puts us more in touch with our emotions.
Returning to a familiar holiday destination has the same effect, as we remember the good times we've already had in that place.
So go ahead and re-watch, re-read or revisit your favourite things in life - it's officially good for us all!
