Could you live in this tiny house?

Share |

Wednesday, February 08, 2012

I live in a very small house, but alongside this abode, mine is positively palatial!

It's touted as the smallest eco-house in the world - a 3.048 sq metre [10ft sq] cube that includes a double bed, lounge with a table and two chairs, room for a TV, a full sized shower and a kitchen. There's an energy-efficient fridge, induction hob, recirculating rang hood and a sink shoe-horned in.

Solar panels on the roof  provide the power and it's designed to be carbon-neutral.

The wee home's creator, Dr Mike Page from the University of Hertfordshire, says it's surprisingly comfortable

Building materials are mostly wood and other green or sustainable materials, but the designers have considered comfort and style as well.

As to the miniscule size, one viewer commented, "it's smaller than my wife's wardrobe!"
