If you want to attract love, get a dog. That's what a new survey reckons.
A Purina New Zealand survey has found that, nationwide, 80.5 per cent of dog owners are either married or in a relationship, but only 60.2 per cent of cat owners are taken.
Cat owners it seems, like their own company, with around 61 per cent of cat owners preferring to keep to themselves. Only 53 per cent of dog owners feel the same.
Kennel Club director secretary Richard Brown, reckons many people regard their dog as one of their children, rather than a pet. I personally can relate to that!
If the survey is revealing the correct figures though , it doesn't look too good for people looking for love in Canterbury - 63.3 percent living there, said they were 'cat people'.
