The virtual King is coming!

He'll be digitally resurrected with hologram-like images and his daughter Lisa Marie approves.

Digital Domain Media Group, the company behind Tupac Shakur's headline-making hologram-like performance at this year's Coachella Music Festival, has announced it's planning to create a series of "virtual" Elvis likenesses.

DDMG said it was working with Core Media Group, which owns Elvis Presley's name and likeness for project development, to "jointly develop, produce and own a series of 'virtual' Elvis Presley likenesses for a range of entertainment projects - from shows and appearances to film, TV and multi-platform productions throughout the world".

Elvis Presley Enterprises, a division of Core Media Group, said in a statement: "This is a new and exciting way to bring the magic and music of Elvis to life.

"His lifelong fans will be thrilled all over again and new audiences will discover the electric experience of Elvis the performer."

Lisa Marie has revealed that she has no problem with the digital recreation - as long as it's "done tastefully".

"I've been maintaining that as long as things are done tastefully, I would never have a problem with it.Thankfully we've been very much involved, so we will be formulating how it'll be coming out and everything," she said, adding, "There's no definite plans yet."

Another high-tech production company, has been planning to revive Marilyn Monroe, using hologram-like technology, for a 'virtual' Monroe concert later this year.

The late star's estate is threatening legal action if the show goes on.
