Would Tom Selleck reprise his role in Magnum PI if the show returned to the screen?
The actor best-known for playing private investigator Thomas Magnum in the popular 80s TV series, reckons a return in a re-make could damage the memory of the original show.
Series like Dallas have recently returned to the telly , but in Selleck's words, ''I am proud to have made Magnum an icon and I don't want to harm his legacy."
''Teenagers are usually hired for remakes and the original cast are only handed foolish guest appearances.''
Asked if receiving $US1 million to appear in the show would make him reconsider, Selleck replied that he's ''known for changing his opinion.''
So, what happened to Thomas Magnum's famous Hawaiian shirt?
The 67-year-old actor says he gave it to the National Museum in Washington.
