The naked housewarming

Share |

Friday, August 24, 2012

How do you make a house a home? By walking around it in the buff, according to one new survey.

That's just one of the personal rituals that people do, to feel truly settled in a new abode.

On average, it takes just over two months to really feel at home and as for that naked wander, men are the most likely to try that method.

It's also a good way to check the efficiency of the curtains and if those drapes don't do the job properly, your new  neighbours may get to know you sooner than expected!

THE 'MAKE A HOUSE A HOME' CHECKLIST

  • Walk around the house naked
  • Buy new furniture
  • Spend a full day/night on the sofa
  • Throw a housewarming party
  • Put a welcome mat outside the door
  • Have breakfast in bed
  • Receive a 'new home' gift
  • Put up pictures of family and friends
  • Learn the postcode off by heart
  • Have friends over for dinner
