Now, Chanel has chosen a male celebrity to front the newest campaign for Chanel No.5 - the first time in 91 years, that a woman hasn't been the star.
Other famous females fronting for the famous perfume, have included Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou and Catherine Deneuve.
46-year-old Brad Pitt features in photos and on video and it's all to be aired on October 15th.
So why choose a man? A spokesman for Chanel, explains: "To keep a legend fresh, you always have to change its point of view."
'We think very much that the perfume is a seduction between a man, a woman and the perfume.'
