One contestant on The Voice Australia received the surprise of a lifetime when he got to sing for the one and only Michael Bublé, courtesy of coach Guy Sebastian.

Before performing an impressive cover of the Candian crooner's 'Feeling Good,' Jake Meywes explained he often gets compared to Bublé.

"I'd say I'm a new age crooner. People have at times compared me to Michael Bublé with the sort of style that I sing.

"I'm not in that company just yet, but hopefully being on the show will put me somewhat closer. If I'm compared to [Michael], that's a fantastic thing."

Following the audition, Sebastian surprised Meywes by taking out his phone and ringing the father-of-three on FaceTime.

"Hi Michael, I'm at The Voice, we've just heard an artist sing and his voice is obviously influenced by you," explained Guy, as Jake stood in disbelief.

"Can you listen to him sing for two seconds, is that alright?"

Despite failing to make it the next round of the competition, Meywes was thrilled to sing for his idol, especially after Bublé was instantly impressed and complimented his "smooth" vocals.

After ending the call, Sebastian told Meywes: "You just sang for Michael Bublé! That's crazy!"
