Nicole Kidman is showing off her impressive vocals once again in her latest television role.

After singing her way into the hearts of many moviegoers with her Oscar-nominated part in Moulin Rouge, the 53-year-old is now crooning an eerie rendition of 'Dream a Little Dream of Me' as the theme song of her new HBO thriller, The Undoing.

The nearly century-old song - which was first recorded by Ozzie Nelson, but became popularised by The Mamas & The Papas in 1968 - centers on a besotted person who doesn't want to leave the dream world they’ve built with their lover and return to less pleasant realities.

Kidman revealed how her rendition came about in a recent interview on Zoë Bell’s BBC Radio 2 show, telling the host: "We were in lockdown. We were in Tennessee, in Nashville, and the director [Susanne Bier] sent me a text going, 'Would you sing the title track, 'Dream a Little Dream of Me,' to the series?'

"I was like, 'What? No, I so don't want to do that. My voice is not good,' which is always my reaction, and she said, 'No, no, I think you can sing it.'"

Nevertheless, with a little help from her husband, Keith Urban, who luckily does have a recording studio at home, she went ahead and recorded the song.

Kidman stars alongside Hugh Grant as a married couple in The Undoing.
