This week is the sixtieth anniversary of the Beatles kicking off their residency at Liverpool's Cavern Club and today is the fifty-eighth anniversary of the release of their first studio album Please Please Me.

The album stayed at the top of the best-sellers charts for thirty weeks and featured hits such as 'Love Me Do,' 'PS I Love You,' 'Do You Want To Know A Secret,' 'Twist And Shout' and 'I Saw Her Standing There.'

I thought he looked a little apprehensive about the whole fan photo idea, as if he was still considering a Plan B, just in case the music thing didn’t work out.
