New Zealand police mourn at the loss of their much loved guinea pig!

NZ Police are going to have a tough time getting through work today after being hit with some pretty heavy news!

It's with great sadness that we announce Constable Elliot's passing. He passed away peacefully after a short illness at midday on Sunday 20th August 2017. He will be missed by his police family, who he enjoyed working for over the last year, spreading prevention messaging about crossing roads, safer driving and avoiding burglaries. New Zealand Police posted on their Instagram this morning sharing a picture of the much-loved Constable Elliot in his final resting place. Constable Elliot was owned by a member of staff and instantly took off as an online sensation for his road safety messages.

RIP Constable Elliot.
