Valerie Adams has shared an emotional tribute dedicated to her late mother on her Instagram account.

It has been 17 years since Valerie's mother tragically passed away due to cancer getting the better of her.

Here's the heartfelt post:

September 16th 2000❤️ I cradled you in my arms as you took your last breath. I was only 15yrs old. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and all the teachings you have implemented.
