Thanks To A Doctor’s Idea And The Love Of A Brother, These Babies Had A Chance Of Surviving!

This story is heartwarming!

Children are the most precious of treasures to their parents. But unfortunately, some babies are born prematurely.

Premature babies who haven’t had the chance to fully develop in their mother’s womb are always under special protection. Usually they’re placed into sterile incubators and are kept there until they become stronger. However, Dr Uwe Ewald from Sweden came up with an ingeniously simple idea and most importantly, one that worked!

Instead of keeping the babies in incubators, the doctor asks family members for their help. Placed on the chests of their family, natural body heat keeps the little ones warm, their heartbeat equals out and they breathe stably. Familial germs don’t bother the child and can even make their immune system stronger.

Anne Uth and Henry Graham were expecting twins. The babies, Rebeca and Marius, were born in the Hvivodre hospital in Denmark on 15 December, 2008. Unfortunately they came nine weeks to early.

The twins weighed less than 1700 grams, and both the doctors and their parents worried for their lives. So they decided to use the same method as Dr Uwe Ewald. One of the babies was placed on the father’s chest and one on their older brother, Valdemar.

The condition of the babies began to stabilise.

Today, eight years have passed and the kids are doing well - they also feel an extraordinary connection with their older brother.
