Itchy eyes can be very irritating to deal with, not to mention they can leave your eyes feeling sore, red, and watery.

However, many of these symptoms are preventative - for example, you can take steps to remove allergens in your home by vacuuming and dusting regularly.

If itchy eyes are already an issue, try an oral antihistamine, or antihistamine eye drops to relieve and soothe eyes. Taking these in advance can help if you know you’re heading somewhere where allergens are rife.

Although it can be difficult, resist rubbing itchy eyes as this will irritate them further, using cold compresses can also help to bring some relief.
