Wearing sunglasses is very important, especially when we are outdoors and exposed to the harsh UV rays in New Zealand.

It’s tempting to purchase tinted sunglasses from your favourite retailer, however, spending a bit more money and investing in a pair of good quality sunglasses that protect your eyes is definitely more worth it in the long term.

When in the market for new sunglasses, whether you need prescription lenses or not, you should make sure that they provide  100% UV protection or UV 400 protection which protects from the harmful UVA and UVB rays.

If you do lots of water sports or fishing, then you might want to consider polarised lenses which help to eliminate reflected glare. You can get sunglasses with prescription lenses or opt for attachable tinted lenses that clip on to your everyday glasses.
