It was love at first sight for 80-year-old Maria Teresa Cobar when she met 95-year-old Carlos Victor Suarez less than a year ago at the Aventura Plaza Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

"When I saw her my heart filled with joy," Suarez told the Miami Herald.

The romance blossomed as they started spending time together every day, and quickly fell in love.

Eight months after meeting the love of her life, Maria said "I do" for the very first time in her life.

The wedding ceremony took place in the ballroom of their nursing center, with friends, family, and staff in attendance.

"Maria has never been married, I just think back to when I got married and that's what motivated me to make everything possible for them," Aventura Plaza's activities coordinator, Allison Almirola says. "I wanted her to experience the beautiful feeling of marrying your soul mate."

"My mom never worried about looking for a husband, I was her priority her entire life," Maria's daughter said. "The day finally has come and I'm so happy for her, she deserves this."

Now, the couple will live in the Honeymoon Suite at their nursing center, as they start a new life together as husband and wife.

"I've been lonely for many years, this is a great blessing from God," Cobar says. "It is never too late to find love."
