Viewers are convinced that The Chase is fixed after latest incident

Bradley Walsh accused of fixing the latest episode of The Chase

Despite the fact that it was a repeat episode of the show, many fans are still taking to Twitter to voice their outrage over the incident.

As you'll see above, Maggie answered 18 questions correctly, and was about to take home £50,000 by herself - which is an amazing effort in itself.

With just 3 seconds to go, Anne got a question wrong and everyone expected Anne not to be able to answer it.

She managed to get her answer in, and fans quickly voiced their concerns over how fast the question was asked, and the authenticity of the timer.

Because of all the outrage online, a spokesperson from ITV released a statement regarding the incident:

“Anne gave the final correct answer within the time remaining.

The game control system stops the countdown as soon as the correct answer is given.

On this specific example, the clock stopped with one second still showing, giving the appearance that the Chaser had more time to answer but, in fact, the Chaser had already given the correct answer, the clock had been stopped and the team had been caught with one second remaining on the clock.

This was checked and confirmed by an independent adjudicator.

This was explained to the contestants who accepted and agreed with the decision.”
