The Beach Boys' 'Good Vibrations' is the ultimate cheerful song!

Beating Billy Joel, ABBA and Pink for the top spot, the 1966 anthem was revealed as the world's happiest song thanks to science.

Music psychologist Dr Michael Bonshor, from the University of Sheffield, has discovered the formula for the most uplifting tracks are songs that have a tempo of 137 beats per minute (bpm) and a regular verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure but are peppered with unpredictable elements like a key change or 'seventh chords'.

Taking the second and third spots on the list of the world's happiest songs is 'I Got You (I Feel Good)' by James Brown and 'House of Fun' by Madness respectively.
