Much‑loved singer Bonnie Tyler has been placed into an induced coma following emergency surgery, prompting an outpouring of concern from fans around the world.

The 74‑year‑old was rushed to hospital near her home in Faro, Portugal, where she underwent urgent intestinal surgery. A spokesperson confirmed Bonnie was initially recovering well, but doctors later made the decision to place her into an induced coma to support her body and assist with her recovery.

In a brief statement, her representative thanked fans for their care and kindness, saying the family is deeply aware of the well‑wishes being sent from across the globe.
