Brenda Lee has finally released a music video for 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree', 65 years after it's original release

Rock and Roll and Country Music Hall of Famer Brenda Lee is celebrating her signature song - and one of the greatest Christmas songs of all time - 'Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,' on its 65th Anniversary with a new music video!

“For those out there who know me and have supported me and my music through the years, I’ve very proud to be putting out the first-ever music video for ‘Rockin’.’ This song has been so special to me—I never thought it would be my signature song, but I love that it is because it brings so much joy,” she said.

“I remember the day I recorded this wonderful Johnny Marks song, and here we are 65 years later and I’m only here because of you,” she added. I won’t ever meet all of you, but I know you are there and have been since I was a little girl—so Thank You and I wish everyone a Merry Christmas!”

'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' was written by Johnny Marks - the same songwriter who also wrote 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer', 'I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day' and more classic Christmas hits.

Brenda Lee recorded the vocals for 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' when she was only 13 years old, and it was released in 1958 however it wouldn't become a hit until 1960 when it peaked at number 14 on the US charts.

Since then it has become a holiday favourite, sitting at number two on the Billboard Christmas Singles chart for the last four years - beat out only by Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'.

This music video and remastering of the original song is part of a new five-track digital EP called 'A Rockin' Christmas.'
