It's been 33 years since they first starred alongside each other ... and now Bruce Willis and John Travolta are reuniting once again for the action film, Paradise City.

In the film's trailer, Willis plays bounty hunter, Ian Swan, who is getting a little too old for the job but agrees to take on the extremely difficult and dangerous assignment to take down a crime lord in Hawaii, played by Travolta.

"When bounty hunter Ian Swan is shot and presumed dead after disappearing in Maui waters, Swan's son, Ryan (Blake Jenner), his ex-partner (Stephen Dorff), and a local detective (Praya Lundberg) set out to find his killers," the film's synopsis states.

This is the first time Travolta and Willis have worked together since pairing up in 1994 for the Quentin Tarantino classic Pulp Fiction.

Prior to that, the two starred in the comedy film Look Who’s Talking and became good friends over the years.

Paradise City is one of the final movies Willis filmed prior to announcing his retirement from acting after being diagnosed with the brain condition, aphasia.

Aphasia can begin as trouble communicating due to brain damage in the left side of the brain, which controls language.

Someone with aphasia might have trouble finding the correct words, substitute the wrong words for each other or speak in short sentences that are difficult or impossible to understand.

While its presentations can vary, aphasia is usually a symptom of a broader medical issue. It may result from a stroke, head injury or tumour, or develop due to a degenerative brain condition.

The film will be released on November 11.
