It's been 33 years since Sir Cliff Richard first topped the charts with his Christmas classic 'Mistletoe and Wine' ... and it's possible he could do it all over again this year!

The music legend has teamed up with the UK-based musical theatre group and winners of the eighth series of Britain's Got Talent, Collabro, to re-record a stunning new version of the festive track.

The idea for the new collaboration came together while Collabro were recording their seasonal album Christmas Is Here and the 'Devil Woman' singer was working on his own Music... The Air That I Breathe record.

Speaking about the song, the 'Some People' hitmaker said: "I'm finding it hard to believe that it has been 33 years since I first released 'Mistletoe and Wine.'"

"I am really thrilled with this newly recorded version with the Collabro boys. I love their harmonies and it was a pleasure to sing with them, and if this new version gets everyone into the Christmas Spirit we will be very happy!"

Although Richard made it famous, 'Mistletoe and Wine' originally featured in the stage musical Scraps in 1976, based on the Hans Christian Andersen story The Little Match Girl.

Written by Jeremy Paul, Leslie Stewart and Keith Strachan, Richard's version stayed at number one for four weeks and became the biggest selling single of 1988.
