Coro St star denies split

Coronation Street star Alex Bain has denied splitting from his pregnant girlfriend as he discussed his excitement ahead of welcoming their first child together.

The 16-year-old actor last week hinted that he had split from other half Levi Selby but has since hit back at the claims and admitted he couldn't wait to meet his baby daughter, who they have named Lydia-Rose.

According to The Sun, the soap star took to Facebook and wrote: 'I’m still with my girlfriend, and can’t wait to have my own little family!'

Meanwhile, an insider told the publication that while the teenage couple went through a rough patch, they are 'stronger than ever' and ready to welcome their little girl in December.

A source said: 'They’ve been through a bad patch but are now stronger than ever and so excited to meet their baby.

'It feels even more real now they’ve got a name. They just want to shout it from the rooftops.' MailOnline have contacted Alex Bain's rep for comment.

The reports come after it was believe that he had parted ways with Levi, also 16, after she took to her Facebook with a picture of her recent ultrasound alongside the caption: 'Me and my little girl from now on!! Can't wait to start my life with her.'

Shock news that Alex, who has played the lovable Simon Barlow for 10 years after joining in 2008, was set to become a first time dad with Levi emerged in May, who was 12 weeks pregnant at the time.      

Levi delightedly announced her pregnancy on social media with a picture of a recent ultrasound two months ago.

And now the teenager has taken to her Facebook page to hint at a change in circumstances, but remains defiant in being there for her unborn daughter.
