Coronavirus: New Zealand has 15 new cases of Covid-19 and three people in ICU

Today New Zealand has 15 new cases of Covid-19 - bringing the total number of cases in New Zealand to 1,401 says Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield.

There are 6 new confirmed cases and 9 probable cases today.

There have been no additional deaths.

There are 13 people in hospital, including three in ICU. Two of these patients are in critical condition.

Of the total, 770 people have recovered.

For the eighth day in a row, more people have recovered from coronavirus than have tested positive.

On Tuesday, New Zealand had its deadliest day with four people dying from the virus.

Three were from the Rosewood rest home cluster and a man in his 70s died in Wellington.

Our official death toll now stands at nine and Bloomfield cautioned more were likely.
