Coronavirus: New Zealand has 20 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and sadly one death

New Zealand has 20 new cases of COVID-19 in the community and sadly one death, reports the Ministry of Health.

A woman in her 90s who was a confirmed case of COVID-19 passed away last night in North Shore hospital. The woman had a number of underlying health conditions.

All of the new cases are in Auckland.

There are 43 people in hospital, including seven patients in intensive care.

On Monday, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced Auckland would remain at alert level 4 until 11.59pm on Tuesday 14 September.

The rest of the country is now at level 3.

The Government is still investigating how the original transmission occurred from the New South Wales returnee who was staying in MIQ at the Crowne Plaza.
