Courteney Cox reveals the iconic Friends scene from the show that was actually awful to film

It's one of the most iconic scenes from Friends; the sequence where the six actors frolic in a big fountain.

And while it looks like everyone is having fun, Courteney Cox has admitted that the famous scene - which features in the opening credits of the series, which ran until 2004 - wasn't her day, her week, her month, or even her year.

During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cox was asked whose idea it was to dance in the fountain.

To which she responded: "Well, it definitely wasn't mine!

"We were in that fountain for a long time. Somebody thought that would just be really fun, and let me tell you what happens - it's not fun to be dancing in a fountain for hours and hours."

She continued: "I remember Matthew Perry saying at one point, and we didn't know each other that well at that point. But I remember, and this is so Matthew, but he was like, 'Can't remember a time that I wasn't in this fountain.'"
