"Trying to win over the same kitties that ran away from me in 2014, same results" he captioned his post.

Ed Sheeran recently took to Instagram to share hilarious footage of him attempting to serenade eight cats in the Cat Cafe Mocha Lounge in Tokyo.

To the amusement of viewers, as soon as Ed started singing his hit, Thinking Out Loud, the cats bolted out of the room - leaving Ed pouting behind with his guitar.

The video then cuts to footage from 2014 when Ed tried to serenade the same cats to the same response...

The video ends back in 2024 with close-ups of the cats staring into the camera from afar, seemingly waiting for Ed to stop his music.

Fans took to the comments with one saying "They wanted to hear 'Purrfect' obviously 😂"

Another wrote, "Ed Sheeran is my spirit animal."

And many simply agreed that "This is hilarious."

Not all cats dislike the singer though, a week ago he shared a snap of Elton John holding one of his two cats, Calippo and Dorito.

Back in December Ed posted another photo dump, with one of the photos a cute pic of him curling up with one of Taylor Swift's three cats.

The cosy snapshot featured Ed, clad in a simple white tee, smiling while snuggling up to the furry feline on an ottoman.

Swifties were delighted to see Meredith making a rare appearance in a photo.

"Ed confirming that Mer is alive is the highlight of my week 👏," said one comment.

Another added, "END GAME (TAYLOR'S VERSION) WE CHEERED," about Ed's potential involvement in the highly-anticipated Reputation (Taylor's Version) re-release.

Taylor has previously said that out of her three cats, Meredith, named after Ellen Pompeo's character in Grey's Anatomy, prefers to stay out of the spotlight.

"The truth is, Meredith just hates having her picture taken," she shared in 2020. "... So yeah, there it is. There's the explanation. She's just a really private little cat. She likes her business kept to herself. She doesn't like a camera shoved in her face, and who can blame her? So there's your update on Meredith."

Too cute!
