The comedy world is in mourning this morning at the passing of 91-year-old Jerry Lewis. There are only a few comedians that have been so beloved as Lewis and he will be sorely missed.
Lewis, who many considered the rubber-faced comedian who shot to fame with his performances with the ever suave crooner Dean Martin, entertained and brought laughter to nightclubs, tv sets, and cinemas all over the world easily making them the most popular comedy team of the mid 20th century.
The pair eventually went through a bitter split in 1956, however, he continued to bring joy starring and directing in films such as the Nutty Professor.
Celebrities and comedians all over the world have taken to Twitter to pay their respects to the acclaimed comedian:
Jerry Lewis, a complicated soul who made the whole world laugh has died.
