Keith Urban 'devastated' over wife's bruises

And Nicole Kidman told Vogue.com on Tuesday her character of Celeste Wright in Big Little Lies has been 'the deepest I've gone in terms of finding and losing things'.

She also related how her real-life husband Keith Urban reacted to her 'being thrown around physically' during intense scenes with her co-star Alexander Skarsgard.

The country star, 49, told Nicole he was going to take a photo of her back at one point while she was filming 'because it's covered in deep, massive bruises'.

'He was devastated seeing it but then he would say, "But I have an artist wife!"' she described.

The actress described being 'really bruised' after shooting the challenging scenes and having to take pain medication afterwards.

She spoke with Vulture in a separate interview about being hesitant to speak extensively about her television role.

'I feel weird talking about it,' she offered. 'I'm not comfortable because, I don't know, I feel like I want the work to speak for itself, and I don't like dissecting it too much.

'It's probably one of the hardest roles I've had to talk about because I'm still very raw about it, if that makes any kind of sense. It's weird,' she continued.

Her character Celeste, a retired lawyer trapped in a violent marriage, has sparked heated conversation from the show's fans on the topic of domestic abuse.

'It's a very dangerous and toxic relationship, but as they both like to say they love each other,' she explained.
