Ratepayers to fork out more for Auck festival

Making Auckland Arts Festival an annual event will mean a bigger contribution from Auckland ratepayers.

The Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Board has proposed giving the festival 3.3-million next financial year.

That's $1 million more than it received this year.

Councillors voted unanimously last year to trial an annual festival from 2016.

Submissions on the board's funding proposals close today.
