Stewart reveals post-Daily Show plans - family dinners

The mourning's started after the king of political comedy in the US announces he's throwing in the towel.

Jon Stewart says after 17 years hosting The Daily Show, it's time to give it up.

The programme attracts two million viewers a night, but punches above its weight when it comes to star wattage guests.

Stewart's told his viewers he doesn't have any specific plans, but has a lot of ideas.

"I'm going to have dinner on a school night with my family, who I have heard from multiple sources are lovely people."
