She's currently on a round the world tour promoting her latest film Beauty and the Beast, but if you happen to run into Emma Watson along the way, don't ask her for selfie.

In her latest interview with Vanity Fair the Harry Potter star revealed why she had to impose a ban on pictures with fans as her fame was getting 'past the point of no return'.

Her method of dealing with it was to say no to selfies with fans, explaining: 'For me, it's the difference between being able to have a life and not.

'If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they've created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 metres. They can see what I'm wearing and who I'm with. I just can't give that tracking data.'

Opening up about the surreal nature of Harry Potter mania, she recalled meeting people who had her face tattooed on them and others who said the books had cured their cancer.
And she started to feel like a different person as she attended premieres all over the world in elaborate ballgowns and layers of make-up.

'I’d put my hands on the sink and look at myself in the mirror and say, "Who is this?". I didn’t connect with the person who was looking back at me, and that was a very unsettling feeling.'

However, her policy doesn't mean being standoffish with fans as she revealed she's happy to sit and chat with them and answer any questions about Harry Potter.
