Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship has been under close scrutiny since day one, so the news that Meghan is dealing with some more family drama should come as no surprise.

Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, seems to be the cause of most of this drama, whether it be the staged photographs with paparazzi or the health condition that prevented him from attending the wedding.

Earlier this week Thomas sat down for a ‘tell-all’ interview with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain where he explained his side of the story.

The only issue with this interview was that neither Harry nor Meghan were aware that it was going to happen, a source said,

“It came as a surprise. They were not given advanced warning. They understand he has been harassed by the paparazzi 24/7 but it’s hard for them to accept his apology when he’s again taking cash.”

In an interesting admission, the source also stated that since the wedding, Meghan’s relationship with her father has been on the rocks,

"Meghan loves her father deeply and Harry and Meghan have tried to offer him support and guidance adjusting to the media attention. But the relationship is fractured and it will be interesting to see where they go from here."

It seems like a very sad situation for Meghan to be in, she was about to marry her prince in a fairy-tale wedding, but her family let her down in the most public way possible.

Even though Thomas took cash in return for the staged photos, money wasn’t the reason that Thomas agreed to the interview according to Piers Morgan,

“Well, it was a small amount of money, a few thousand pounds. He was offered stratospherically lots more money by different media organisations. He could've made a lot more money doing what he wanted to do.”

"It wasn't about money for him, you can tell that. The real motivation was setting the record straight, having his say."
