Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born is one of the biggest movies of 2018, and easily one of the most successful.

With Lady Gaga by his side, Bradley Cooper directed and starred in a true masterpiece that has been hailed as the best remake of the 1954 movie.

Jennifer Lopez has made a very interesting revelation about the movie when talking to Extra.

The 49-year-old star was approached in the early 2000s for a remake in which she would star alongside Will Smith.

It was revealed in an interview that Will Smith did back in 2002 that both Alicia Keys and J-Lo were considered for the job.

"Will and I talked about it, talked about developing the script." Lopez said. "It just never took off. Projects are like that."

"Jennifer loves the concept, (and) Alicia really likes it (too)," he said at the time.

"What I like about Jennifer is that you could go Latin. The music and the environment could be the Latin world, which would be different from all of the other (versions)."

"She was asked to do it, but her first movie shouldn't be a movie where she's basically playing herself," he told MTV in October 2002. "I don't think that's real acting, playing yourself.

"I think her first film should be a little more challenging, a little bit more dramatic. A smaller role, then she grows into a starring role. When you're the focal point of the movie and you're expected to carry a movie on your back, I think that's a mistake a lot of singers fall into."

Lopez told Extra that the project "never took off" and over the next 10 years Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Russell Crowe, and Tom Cruise were all interested in the role but nothing came of it.
