In an emotional social media post, Chrissy Teigen has announced the exciting news that she and her husband John Legend are expecting their fourth child together.

Sharing photos of her growing baby bump with fans, the 36-year-old revealed she was pregnant again after undergoing IVF.

"The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again," Teigen - who is also mum to Luna, six, and Miles, four - captioned the snaps.

"1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way."

"Every appointment I've said to myself, 'ok if it's healthy today I'll announce' but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I'm just too nervous still," she added.

"I don't think I'll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I'm feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it's been very hard keeping this in for so long!"

The happy news comes two years after they lost their third baby, Jack, after Teigen suffered from pregnancy complications.

The model was rushed to hospital in October 2020 with heavy bleeding, due to having a "weak" placenta. She underwent two blood transfusions.

Taking to Instagram at the time, Teigen broke the tragic news alongside a series of black-and-white pictures from her hospital bed.

She wrote: "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we've never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn't enough.

"We never decide on our babies' names until the last possible moment after they're born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.

"To our Jack - I'm so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn't give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you."

Chrissy thanked her fans for their support, adding: "Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.

"We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we've been able to experience. But everyday can't be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it."

The couple had announced they were expecting their third child through John's music video for his new single 'Wild'.

John and Chrissy tied the knot in September 2013 in Italy, after meeting on the set of his 'Stereo' music video in 2006.
