John Travolta has paid a sweet tribute to his friend, Dame Olivia Newton-John, on what would have been her 74th birthday.

Taking to his social media, the 68-year-old actor shared a picture of himself and his Grease co-star in the 1978 hit musical, as their iconic characters Danny and Sandy.

"Happy birthday my Olivia," he wrote under the snap on his Instagram Story.

The two stars first met on the set of Grease and reunited five years later in the 1983 film Two Of A Kind.

They retained a strong friendship for 44 years until her passing a month ago from breast cancer.

Newton-John died in August at her ranch in Southern California, where she was surrounded by family and friends.

Olivia Newton-John is survived by her husband, John Easterling and her daughter, Chloe, from her first marriage to Matt Lattanzi.

Travolta's wife Kelly Preston also died of breast cancer in 2020.
