After the news broke that the beloved Olivia Newton-John had passed away, Kate Hudson took to social media to pay tribute to the Australian icon.

Cradling her three-year-old daughter, Rani Rose, in her arms, the mother-three belted out a stunning rendition of 'Hopelessly Devoted to You,' first crooned by Newton-John's character, Sandy Olsson, in Grease.

Alongside the video, Hudson also penned a heartfelt tribute to her "inspiration."

"There are a handful of people in my life who inspired me to lock myself in my bedroom and sing from the top of my lungs in the mirror.

"Mimicking every move she made, wishing I could hit those clean high notes and striving to try with my little rasp. What a lovely light of a human."

She continued: "She was an inspiration to me as I dreamed of what my performers life ahead may be. Thank you for sharing your light to the world as it moved and shaped little girls like me.

"May we all today sing for Olivia and celebrate her courageous years of fighting. Love and Light."

While Hudson is best known for her acting skills, she wowed fans with her beautiful cover.

'Hopelessly Devoted to You' was a major hit for Newton-John in 1978, reaching the number three spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 20 on the country chart.

Newton-John died Monday morning at her ranch in Southern California, where she was surrounded by family and friends.

While a specific cause of death has not yet been revealed, a source close to TMZ reported that "she lost her battle to metastatic breast cancer."

The 'Physical' hitmaker is survived by her husband, John Easterling, who shared the news of her death on her official Instagram account, and her daughter, Chloe.

Funeral arrangements for Newton-John have not been announced.
