Kelly Clarkson belts out powerful cover of George Michael's 'Faith'

While Kelly Clarkson usually kicks off every episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show with her Kellyoke segment, Friday's show was a little different.

Unable to sing live, the 39-year-old American Idol winner instead shared a pre-recorded clip of her flawlessly belting out George Michael's 1987 classic 'Faith.'

The title track from Michael's debut album Faith, the song held the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for four weeks.

According to Billboard magazine, 'Faith' was the number-one single of the year in the United States in 1988.

In 2001, it placed at number 322 on the Songs of the Century list.
